Love finding new music like I do? I always love when friends of mine pass on the recommendation of new music and that is why I am telling you to go listen to some music by Tyler Matthew Smith (Facebook & Twitter). He brings together an interesting blend of Folk, R&B, and World Music to the table and his music leaves you always wanting more.

A couple of nights ago I headed to the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco to watch Tyler play in a benefit for the Red Cross in Haiti. Not only was it a good cause for a struggling country right now, but it brought together some amazing music a good people.

A Kiwi Christmas

For the 3rd year in a row I spent my Christmas and upcoming New Years surrounded by sunny skies, warm temperatures, and many many sheep. While I blog about a lot of my photo sessions on this blog I wanted to also get back to sharing with “the world” my other profession which is leading Active Vacations for an travel company called Backroads. It is an odd feeling having to work over the holidays, but each year that I do it I gain a greater appreciation for the quality time spent with friends and family. I hope all of you out there have had a great holiday so far.

Below are a few photo highlights of my last trip on the North Island of New Zealand. Three great families from Brazil joined us on quite an adventure!

Baby Zach Session

I haven’t shot many baby sessions as a photographer, but if I were to dream up the best baby to take photos of I would pick baby Zach. Not only does this cool kid have his own facebook profile already at the ripe old age of 2 weeks old, but he was the most mild mannered kid I have ever seen! As long as Kelly and Alan kept him fed and his diaper clean he was good to go.

Last week I had the opportunity to see Zach and take some photos of the new family. Below are a few of my favorites from the session. He’s one lucky boy.

Smith Family Session

Yesterday because of work I found myself driving through Salt Lake City, Utah after having been in Death Valley National Park for the week. WOW was it cold in Salt Lake! I was only in town for a day, but I managed to get out my camera and take a few shots of Paul, Jo, and their two boys. Paul and Jo had one goal for me: “Get a family photo where no one is blinking or fighting.” A mighty challenge, but I was up for the task! Below are a few of my favorite shots of the day. Tahoe Group Session

For those of you that have not been to Lake Tahoe before, I want you to step away from the computer, get out your bucket list, and add Lake Tahoe as one of the places that you have to see. I am consistently amazed at how beautiful this area is! If you follow my blog you will remember the Tony & Soraya wedding I photographed right on the lake just a few weeks ago.

This time I headed up north to photograph four, yes FOUR, different families that came to spend the day together to get their pictures taken. And as an added bonus Matt & Vaungaylyn joined the group last minute to get some engagement photos for their recent engagement.

It was a beautiful day up and we found a good place to shoot outside amongst the pine trees and classic Tahoe countryside. Below are just a few of my favorite photos of the day. Thank you to everyone that came out! I had a great time getting to know you all. Enjoy!

After taking photos of the Jolly family up in Folsom, Ca I headed just 10 minutes down the road to the Roberts family and spent some time capturing them also. We had a great time hanging out and Sofia and Grayson were even nice enough to take me to their rooms and give me the grand tour! Below are some of my favorite shots of the session. Jolly Family Session!

This past weekend I headed up to Folsom, Ca for a great family session with Kelly, Lucas, Ethan, and newest member of the family Emily. It was a beautiful fall day and after a few photos at home we headed to a near by park where Ethan had the time of his life swinging on the swings. He reminded me of myself when I was young! Blonde hair, blue eyes, and full of energy. What a beautiful family! Below are a few of my favorite shots of the day. Enjoy!

I just finished up editing some photos of the Griffis family down in lovely Santa Cruz, Ca.
