For the 3rd year in a row I spent my Christmas and upcoming New Years surrounded by sunny skies, warm temperatures, and many many sheep. While I blog about a lot of my photo sessions on this blog I wanted to also get back to sharing with “the world” my other profession which is leading Active Vacations for an travel company called Backroads. It is an odd feeling having to work over the holidays, but each year that I do it I gain a greater appreciation for the quality time spent with friends and family. I hope all of you out there have had a great holiday so far.

I just finished another 10 day tour down the west coast of the South Island. The weather gods were smiling down on us as we were treated to sunny skies and at times temperatures in the 90’s! I have a few days left till I make the flight back home. Keeping my fingers crossed for snow in Tahoe! As always a few photos for your enjoyment below and then the slideshow.

Now that the new year is upon us it got me thinking about my goals for 2009. Thinking back to my 2008 goals I can’t seem to remember what they were (doh!) so this year I put my thinking cap on and decided i should write them down. I’m still finalizing the list, but one of my main goals is to focus more on my photography and see where it can take me. Yes, I know that is pretty general, but believe me when I say that I have a big plan in mind. Today I spent a few hours revamping my website to include some of my more recent shots. I had New Years off this year here in New Zealand. Sad that I couldn’t be back state side with friends, but here we celebrated by having some fun with a photo shoot. After talking about the hardships we are all going to have in 2009, we staged our “apartment” in our garage.
